Give Me Strength (Ikiru Yuuki) is based on the true story of Hideko Kikuta, a Japanese woman who grew up in Japan during World War II. After years of experiencing the harsh realities of wartime conditions, she meets an American court reporter working for the U.S. Navy at Yokota Air Force Base outside of Tokyo. He brings her to California where she will face racism and prejudice as she raises her three daughters and works to make ends meet.
