This music-analytical approach to the transcompositions of the German composer Johannes Schollhorn reveals how the fusion of the original tonal structure and contemporary composing into a transcomposition is created by using arrangement and instrumentation techniques. Schollhorn searches for potentials for contemporary composition in the artworks of the past.
