'Such a parcel o' rogues' was Robert Burns' comment on the Treaty of Union that joined Scotland to England in 1707. The parcel o' rogues in this book use guns, explosives and hi-tech tricks in an attempt to influence the 2014 referendum that could end the union. Up against them is Ian Greig, the former secret agent featured earlier in The Half Sister and The Nazi Gene. Gordon Lang broke his neck in 2012. Not expected to survive the awkward break, he was left to die alone in a room without water or the means to call attendance. Pulling through and allowed home after 37 days, Lang wrote Parcel o' Rogues in alarm at the threat to his country. The break in his neck has not healed
