Kalen loved her home in the beautiful Santa Cruz Mountains. It was the only home she’d ever known. Or so she thought. Then one beautiful, spring morning, she and her beloved German Shepherd, Tyler, stepped through the front door to go on a hike; and the whole world changed. Literally. Tyler was the first to pick up on the fact that they were no longer home and shared that information with Kalen. Surprised that they were no longer on earth, Kalen was equally surprised, and delighted, that she could now hear Tyler’s thoughts. She didn’t know what challenges lay ahead, but she was extremely grateful that Tyler was with her so she wouldn’t have to face them alone. Until suddenly he wasn’t and her search for a way home became a search on a strange world, Marathell, for her beloved shepherd. In her search for Tyler, Kalen finds so much more. Like who she is, where she really came from and the talents she never knew she possessed. Now all she has to decide is, where to go from here.
