Deep in the mountains of Tennessee, the Laws family scratched out a living on a small tobacco farm. Working the land was a challenge in itself, but this family bore an extra burden in the form of Roy Laws, the cruel, perverted, murderous head of the household-and deacon at the local church. This is the story of the three children who survived their father's monstrous acts only to suffer years of mental anguish. Foremost among their questions was, what kind of God would allow children to be subjected to such torture? This story of their individual paths through life as they search for the answers-and find them-is ultimately gratifying and inspirational.
