She wrote in the Introduction to this 1979 book, "the problems of women include all the problems of the world; the partriarchy is everywhere. We must develop feminist means suitable... 'for any occasion.'... We must ask for the time, energy, and money of every woman who would have her freedom---and her survival, too. It is to this enormous task that this book is addressed. I will try to discern in the following pages what some of the conflicts are which have arisen amongst us, to move from the antagonisms to the different needs they reveal, and to imagine, if possible, a workable approach for meeting those needs."
