Author Description

This book is about the fate and works of the original artist Frida Neygauz (1906 - 1991) who lived during the epoch of revolutions, wars, and the Soviet regime in Russia. The book presents more than a hundred reproductions of her paintings. It contains, also, the unique historical and biographical materials: fragments from the artist's diary, rare documents and photographs, and originals of letters. Reproductions of Frida Neygauzs paintings and all the documents and photographs placed in the book are being published for the first time. The publication is in Russian, but the painting titles are given in both Russian and English.
