Children from broken homes are liable to jeopardize their lives and are sometimes unable to live life to its maximum due to the incapacity to resolve differences experienced in their childhood. Many times it is because the parents, suffering from their own woes, did not have the time or resources to be a good parent for their child preventing dialogue and understanding of the situation. It worsens when the child does not have anyone to share their experiences with; this is especially true for younger children. Statistically, large numbers of those incarcerated and in mental institutions come from a divorced family or unhappy home. To understand and realize the consequences of these families can be brought to the forefront through a new story reading “local mother lost a child due to act of violence.” As the sobbing mother gives eulogy to her child’s grace, we saunter in our living rooms and wonder “what went wrong? How could this tragedy have been avoided? Why did this happen in the first place? ” We are killing our children from our failures to build full and loving relationships. We do this by failing to take time to mate rather than falling in lust or infatuation with someone we met around the way. We are killing our children slowly but surely and there has not been an objective solution to this human epidemic; and there is. It is important for us to take time and evaluate our needs and the needs and desires that we require to be fulfilled by our partner. It is important to get to know your significant other from minutia items such as do they like smooth or crunchy peanut butter, to their religious views, how they plan to parent our future children and of course financial literacy and retirement planning.
