Some of them, to escape the service in the army, will perhaps leave Germany and live elsewhere, but most of them will stay and be soldiers. The girls will doubtless be taught how to spin and weave and to keep house, for every German girl learns to be a good housekeeper before she learns much else. There is in Germany a great forest that covers miles and miles of land, it is called the Black Forest, and there are many stories written about it. In one part of it there is a small _village where all the children, as well as the grown-ups, make dolls - all sorts and sizes of dolls, to be sent over all the world. And the strange thing is that no one of the girls there ever has a doll of her own to play with!
