This volume contains a collection of the best of The New Yorker magazine's cover art. The magazine is well known for its illustrated and often topical covers, mirroring the magazine's feisty spirit. The author organizes the artwork into such classic themes as "The Big City", "Arts and Music", and "The Buzz"--Also offering a behind-the-scenes peek at the sketches that lead up to them as well as a look at the controversy that sometimes followed in their wake.
