Author Description

"Track-II Diplomacy is a unique collaboration between two Israeli and two Palestinian authors. In this joint study, the authors draw on their own experiences in Track-II talks to explicate and analyze Arab-Israeli discussions. Despite the considerable differences between Israeli and Palestinian positions and political perspectives, the authors present a joint analysis of the Track-II discussions and offer shared conclusions - including the argument that further Track-II talks are likely to be necessary if Israelis and Palestinians hope to exit the cycle of violence. They also offer fascinating details of the actual conduct of these informal discussions, based on their own experiences and interviews with others." "Regardless of the future of the Middle East peace process, Track-II Diplomacy offers a valuable contribution to the historical record of Arab-Israeli diplomacy, important conclusions about peacemaking in the Middle East, and some general insights into the role of informal and nonofficial discussions in resolving conflicts."--Jacket.
