The fifth ship to carry the famous name, Ark Royal was introduced into service in 1985 and enjoyed an illustrious career as the Royal Navy's flagship, including active deployments to the Adriatic during the Bosnian War and the Persian Gulf during the 2003 invasion of Iraq.
