Now it is most easy to preserve Corn, by blowing frelh Air upwards thro' it: In order to which, wooden Bars, or large Laths, must be nailed on the Floor of theGrainery.about an Inch distance from each other, if only a Hair-Cloth be laid on them: But coarse Wire-Work is, in some MaltKilns, laid under the Hair-Cloth, or BasketWork made of Osier might be used, and then the Bars may be two or three Inches distant; and there may be the same Distance, if an Iron-Plate full of Holes be laid on them, as is done in many Malt-Kilns. These Laths B B, Fig. 8. may be laid across other Laths, az. A Z. az. nailed fifteen Inches distant, and two Inches or more deep, that there may be a free Passage for the Air under the Laths. 104.
