
Energy requirements of chronic stroke patients are not known. We sought to determine the energy requirements of stable stroke patients who are tube fed. We measured the resting energy expenditure (REE) of tube fed, chronic stroke patients using indirect calorimetry and, measured fat free mass (FFM) using bioelectrical impedance to determine the relationship between FFM and REE.
