Itsaramai... This means in Thai language "New Freedom". It is the name of a wooden sailboat built by hand according to the ancestral techniques of the Indonesian Bugis. It is also the story of the achievement of a dream which turned out by necessity into a life project to save this traditional boat after it was smashed against the rocks by a tropical storm in 2005. After years of repairs, and technical, administrative and financial difficulties, Itsaramai was able to have a second life and sail again, with passengers on board eager for authenticity and exploration. For more than ten years Itsaramai has been taking its passengers to visit, for two days and one night onboard, the extraordinary Angthong Marine Park in the south of the Gulf of Thailand.Unfortunately, the events linked to the 2020 Covid pandemic precipitated things, and the small company created to operate and especially maintain the boat found itself bankrupted. This book of more than fifty selected photos of this adventure is published in order to generate a movement of solidarity through a solidarity fundraising operation. It can be an excellent memory of the experience onboard for those who were lucky enough to be able to participate in one of our cruises. It can also be a gift to send to someone you know to stimulate the desire to share the adventure.Inside there is a 10% discount voucher (valued more than 20 US$) valid for one person if you have the chance to come one day sail with us.
