Author Description

The content of this book is for anyone that wants to actually know how to take care of patients in resource constrained settings using the resources that are available. The two primary authors began writing this book while working in an overwhelmed pediatric (or paediatric) ward in Uganda, noted there are no good medical references available that were also appropriate to the setting. With this in mind, we set out to create a pocket manual quick reference, that could be used by medical students, interns, residents and attendings alike, and would provide basic guidance for how to begin to manage all of the most common problems seen in a hospital.
