The book starts off with Marv's own personal story, the section called "Memoirs of a One Hit Wonder." You will read how, at 10 years old, he had a dream of becoming a rock star. He recruited other kids to join him in singing songs he had written which were usually "doo wop" love ballads so popular in the 1950's when he was growing up. See how he takes his journey in writing, performing, organizing quartets, and pitching his songs to record companies to the wonderful day, at age 17, when he would learn that a beautiful song he had written and performed with the Safaris called "Image of a Girl" hit the charts to be #6 in the nation! The icing on the cake would be winning a Gold Record for "Image" in 1960. In addition, within the second half of the book, Marv has shared "goodies about oldies" where he has compiled over 250 stories, personal accounts, and facts about songs and artists of the music industry from the 1950's to the early 60's. For years, he carried these "tales" around with him from his own personal experience as a young Doo Wop "One Hit Wonder" to stories he acquired through being in the business and research he pulled together.
