Meet Jane Goodall. From the time she was a child, Goodall loved all living creatures. As a young girl, she kept earthworms as pets. She grew up on a farm surrounded by things that crawled, climbed, and chirped. As she got older, Goodall often felt more comfortable with animals than she did with humans. This would help her when, one day in 1960, she'd meet the chimpanzee that would change her life. She named him David Greybeard and in the years to come, he would grow to be as famous as Jane Goodall herself. Read on about the woman who gave animals names instead of numbers and who changed what it meant to be human.
