Shivering, cold and hungry, on a cardboard tucked beneath a large dumpster, Piper is in the warmest place she could find because two weeks ago her mother disappeared from their apartment, leaving the fourteeen-year-old girl no place to go. Having no family or close friends, she is forced to survive on her own. Surprises galore await the lonly young teenager as life can be both cruel and generous, and Piper will experience both.
