Diabetic nephropathy is a microvascular complication of diabetes mellitus and one of the most common causes of chronic kidney failure and end-stage kidney disease in Western countries. Current practices and treatments have not reduced the number of patients with diabetic nephropathy and there is a critical need for novel treatments and targeted kidney care. Handbook of Diabetic Nephropathies will discuss the diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of diabetic nephropathy in clinical practice, including currently available and experimental drug therapies currently in development.
