This book contains memoir of the younger generation of a number of well-known ""old Beida people"", or the descendants of zero-distance observations about ancestors. The specific visual details are offered, which are missed in the great historical narration. The author does not write the memoir from the perspective of the family memory but the history of Peking University, or he tries to integrate a personal family history into an integral part of the history of Peking University to show the memoir's richness and specificity. This is an addendum to the ""official history"". Perhaps more importantly, the ""tradition of Peking University"" that we usually call is like salt dissolving in water, has been infiltrated in such a rich and detailed historical memory.
