Moslem rulers had maintained very detailed chronicle of their reign and had written the first ever History of India covering their regnal period. There was no tradition of history in India before 10th Century A.D. Colonial Britain decided to fill the void and wrote its history from Ancient time till their rule inserting Moslem History in between; The magnum opus called The Oxford History of India was published by Sir Vincent Smith in 1921. British historians were writing Indian History with the rigid discipline of Colonial Masters and when they discovered that Buddha, one of the ten incarnations of Hindu god Visnu was actually a Kirati-Mongolian prince of Nepal, they were petrified.
