This volume contains papers resulting from the 37th IAH Congress held in Hyderabad, India from 6-12 September 2009. Contributions deal with the following four sub-themes: 1. Groundwater resources development in hard rock terrains which includes topics such as groundwater exploration, groundwater assessment and estimation, parameter identification, and techniques for extraction and monitoring of groundwater 2. Groundwater quality and pollution in hard rock aquifers which includes topics such as natural and anthropogenic causes of groundwater pollution, and remedial measures to control groundwater pollution. 3. Groundwater resources management which includes topics such as modeling of groundwater flow and solute transport, managing aquifer recharge in hard rock, and 4. Socio-economic issues relevant to groundwater.
