Author Description

Retells the story of the capture and captivity of Olive and Mary Ann, and eventual release of Olive Oatman. In 1851, Apaches killed Olive Oatman's family and she and her sister were taken captive. Olive's face was tattooed to mark her as a slave, in which capacity she lived until her dramatic escape.
