A traveling preacher roamed the land of Israel, some 2,000 years ago, with a stream of followers. He had no wealth, no title, and no army to command. He relied upon the charity of others for food, water and shelter, as he trekked from town to town, preaching about kindness, forgiveness and salvation. And, he had the power to heal. He cured disease, gave sight to the blind, sound to the deaf, mobility to the lame, and freedom to those who had suffered from lifelong afflictions. He walked on water, cast out demons, and brought dead people back to life. The power of his miracles radiated far beyond the people he healed, transforming the lives of people who merely witnessed the healings, as well as those who had only heard about the miracles.
