Based on a research study Ferch and Roe conducted through the Institute of Marine Studies at the University of Plymouth, looks at how the two largest ports in Poland, Gdynia and Gdansk, use strategic management techniques in the hope of gaining competitive advantage well into the 21st century. They focus on the elements and systems of the process of strategy to investigate how the highly turbulent environment is reflected in the strategic management systems. They find that managers are concerned with the content of strategy rather than the process. They have not indexed the study. Annotation c. Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
