Menstruating theaters b Modern theater and the phenomenon of cultural change approached from East Asia b Attention is given to the phenomenon of cultural politics in modern theater in East Asia. Studying the cultural politics of theater is not easy. The theater is the politics of the theater, the policies, laws, and institutions surrounding it, the economics of the theater, the capital, the market, the distribution, the distribution, the consumption, the sociology (culture) of the theater, the genre, the fashion, and the audience. It is a space where various cultural dynamics such as arts work intricately. The anti-colonial invasion of Western powers in East Asia and the rise and expansion of imperialism in Japan in the first half of the 20th century have already opened theaters of Tokyo, Shanghai, New Gyeonggi, and Gyeongsang, Korea. As a theater, it was subordinated to Western theater capital and culture or incorporated into the East Asian economic and cultural bloc. Therefore, in order to fully understand the cultural phenomena of the modern East Asian theater, it is necessary to look from a trans-national perspective that crosses the borders of nation-state units.
