This is the third paper in the Working Paper Series developed to help students better understand the treatment models and the complex theories of depth Gestalt therapy. This Working Paper helps the professional psychotherapist consider the difficult but important process of developing a therapeutic style, a subject that continues to receive minimal attention in the psychotherapeutic literature. Thus we have attempted here to outline a beginning procedure to help therapists conceptualize, struggle with and develop a method of working--that is, a style. I use the plural "we" in this Working Paper as one way of acknowledging the many therapists and students who have worked with me in our practice and at the Gestalt Institute of Central Ohio over the years we have been developing these ideas.
