The Canadian Sentencing Commission has undertaken an extensive consultation of workers in the field of criminal justice for the purpose of determining their views on various issues. The objectives of the study are to identify and determine the types of non-jurist practitioners in the criminal justice system; to consult a selected sample of these practitioners on a variety of issues; to gather information from these practitioners on their perceived role and influence in the adminstration of justice; and from their comments, to determine their views on various reforms needed in legislation and in the administration of justice. This document contains the study results.
