
The book is the collection of Ye Shengtaos fairy tales of which The Scarecrow records what a scarecrow sees and feels. It truly reflects the precarious rural world in the 20s of twentieth century. He feels bitter when he sees insects are eating rice leaf and he trying hard to shake fan to advise poor owner; when he sees somebody fell down into a river he slabs fan to waken sleepy fisherman to rescue. The work presents the authors hate to social reality and deep sympathy to common people. There are the authors other fairy tales in the collection.
