Product Description Candy Cane tells her jewelry friends about a forest growing in the living room, seeing cotton balls falling from the sky, and meeting a jolly man who lives in a dollhouse. But, can you solve the mystery of what the adventure was really about? The first clue is that Candy Cane is a bracelet from Sunshine's jewelry box. Candy Cane and Cottonballs sparks the imagination and entertains. It is the perfect link between picture books and chapter books. Reading Candy Cane and Cottonballs encourages reading comprehension through active listening, active reading, and the use of picture cues. About the Author We are three sisters; Michelle Apple, Krista Uhl and Nichole Slaughter, who together wrote Candy Cane and Cottonballs, Star and Skunkball and Pearl and Penguins for our series, Just4Gems. We have chosen Ruby Jean as our pen name. This pen name has special meaning to us as Ruby is the name of our maternal grandmother and Jean is our mother’s middle name. We were all born, raised and still live in Southern Indiana. We graduated from college with business degrees and have each worked in Corporate America in our own niche (customer service, sales and finance). We always dreamed of doing some sort of a joint venture but never imagined it would be writing a book series. Our own childhood adventures with our treasured jewelry inspired the series. We took our love of jewelry and made it into a fun, adventurous, fact-learning, mystery-filled book series that young girls and adults alike will enjoy. We tried to think outside the jewelry box—pun intended—to bring something new and exciting to our readers. We hope you and the young girls in your life will enjoy these books half as much as we have writing them.
