The volume contains the abstracts of the GeoDresden 2009 conference, organized in Dresden by the German Geological Society, Sept. 30, to Oct 2, 2009. The sessions held there covered the stratigraphy of Germany, paleontological problem, quaternary research, central European river history, mineralogy and mineral deposits, econonomic uses of rocks in construction and monuments, geosites/heritage/geotourism, engineering geology, hydrogeology and environmental research and a special session focussing on the time between cadomian subdtuction and variscan collision in the Bohemian Massif and adjacent areas.
