Author Description

This collected work deals with the image and figure of a reader of the twentieth century: reader and author, image of the reader and an ideal reader, reading text and reading a tradition, reading as perception and as creative work. The contributors from around the world show that the reader is not only an important participant in the literary process but an internal esthetic goal of literary work. Some of the articles study the writer as a reader.
