This program describes many of the common venous access devices used today, including mid-line catheters, peripherally inserted central catheters, and implantable ports. It describes flushing, care of equipment, administration of drugs, blood withdrawal, site care, and patient education. It also includes precautionary measures and assessment to detect complications such as infection, occlusion, and air emboli.
