Who would have thought that one telephone call could play such a major role in changing a life forever? Vivette's excitement turned to horror when, at tender age of nine she and her family left behind everyone they knew and loved for a new life in West Africa. They expected thing to be different but they weren't prepared for the culture shocked that greeted them. Exposure to Night-time visitors at boarding school, bewitched dorm mates speaking in tongue, a Madman trying to break in and a chicken giving the "evil eye" became part of daily life! These are just a few of the occurrences described in this child's passage through puberty to adulthood experiencing controversy and adversity all the way in a country she refused to recognize as her own.
