The book is aimed at informing and supporting the development of a healthcare sector-wide response for the prevention and management of Type 2 diabetes. It is based on the premise that decision-makers in the health care sector can benefit more from formal structured systems to guide decision-making. Furthermore, service utilization and expenditure analyses are proposed as essential tools for decision-makers to explore how resources are and could be utilized to achieve the highest possible level of health from a given set of resources.
