History of Universities is an annual publication devoted to the study of every aspect of university history from the Middle Ages to 1945. Volume X contains the usual mix of learned articles, book reviews, conference reports, and bibliographical information. Topics include the financing of university education in twelfth and thirteenth century France, the early modern university in Prague, Newman and Tractarian Oxford's idea of a university, and universities and elites in modern Britain.
