An examination of the role of national museums in terms of preserving cultural heritage, transferring knowledge, constructing national identity, and improving the quality of people's lives. This compiles some of the more than sixty papers and keynote speeches from over twenty-five countries from the international conference 'Museum 2011' held in Taiwan in 2011.
