
The Imagist movement of the 1910s guides the poet's hand, which touches briefly on Surrealism and rests comfortably aside Yeats and Tennyson inspired cadence and rhyme. The collection, Modernus Perpetuus, is marked by Modernity, Jazz, French, the Scots, the sonnet, as well as Greek mythology, but reaches the darker side also: Covid-19, to race, to sexuality, of mental illness and alcoholic struggles, oft laid out in a fittingly austere and epigrammatic tone.
