"Social Potpourri - An Anthology" is a mixed bag of stories about unnatural happenings, love, fear, ambition, marriage, complications, war and more. It intends to wrap the readers in the folds of the different lives lived by its characters and elevate ones experience of reading. Each piece has a way of tugging at the reader's emotional chords making the book something to cherish forever. Photographs contributed by Sonia Kapoor make the book an even more coveted volume to have. "Social Potpourri- An Anthology" was conceived nearly a year after www.socialpotpourri.com was created. Having read the stories and poems of our members on Social Potpourri, we hit upon this idea of getting their work published as a way of honouring their talent and making it easier for them to get recognition for their creativity. For many of the writers of the Anthology, including me, this will be the first publication and it gives us immense pleasure to be walking hand in hand with them towards the realization of their dreams which is intrinsically also ours. When we first conceived of the idea and started talking to our members about it, we were pleasantly surprised at the overwhelming response it got. I have been following the blogs of many of these writers for the longest time and I always leave them with a feeling of awe! I consider myself privileged to be among such outstanding talent and have never stopped wondering why and how these people were not published yet, not famous yet for their work, while there are a multitude out there whose books are not worth five minutes of one's time!
