The Amazing Adventures of Brank Huxcrap is the story of a young man who falls in love with a famous surgeon in the London hospital in which he works. She spurns his advances brutally, so, he runs away to Paris to seek his destiny. On the road to self-realisation he has many adventures, mishaps, an occasional epiphany and meets a range of peculiar characters. It is a philosophical thriller full of humour, sadness and destructive relationships. Beneath the farce, satire and savage observations this is a book about self-discovery; about changing one's life and its direction. It is about seeking the mystical and rejecting the internal forces which drive so many of us, from the moment of our birth, into a sort of quiet ruin. The novel is illustrated by artist Philip Cullen and annotated by the great philosopher Barrabas Beck.
