Bovine Internal medicine is dealing with the function, diagnosis, pathology, and treatment of internal body systems. Areas include many fields of study including oncology, endocrinology, hematology, infectious diseases, cardiology, gastroenterology, neurology, nephrology, and respiratory disease management. For the present part it is hoped that what I have produced will not only be a source of information but, in many areas, it will be an enjoyable, educational read. I hoped that it will be used as a working guide rather than a reference book and that it will be of particular help to those at the ‘sharp end’ of the veterinary profession, i.e. in practice. The book comprises 11 chapters. Each chapter provides illustration and explanations, so the reader is given an insight into the author’s intent. The book also, gives guidelines on modern cattle Practice and Education, Professional Skills, Clinical Skills, Dairy Cattle Herd Health and Beef Herd Health. The clinical or farm audit has been used as an applied structural framework to integrate husbandry, welfare and health at a group or herd level within the herd health sections Mindful of this, a section is included on the subject to help practitioners make up their own an ideal examination.
