A trio of monstrous tales unfolds, each born from a seemingly innocent object or desire. The first story, 'The Attack of the Aqua Apes,' follows Scott and Glen as their experimental water-grown apes become uncontrollable and menacing. In 'Night of the Werecat,' Wendy's feline charm triggers a terrifying transformation under the moonlight. Finally, 'Monster Dog' depicts Maggie's puppy returning from obedience school as a genuine monster, far beyond mere mischief.

This collection of short horror stories is designed to entertain younger readers with classic monster tropes. The tales focus on escalating threats and the immediate consequences of the characters' actions or discoveries. The pacing is likely brisk, moving quickly from setup to the central conflict in each distinct narrative. The overall effect aims for mild thrills and suspense suitable for a pre-teen audience.
