An urgent message shatters Gladdy Gold's idyllic vacation, forcing her to confront a new murder case back home. Gladdy's attempt at a relaxing getaway with her beau, Jack, is cut short, leaving him furious and the Gladdy Gold Detective Agency on the trail of a mysterious death. The agency suspects a retirement-home Romeo might be responsible for fatalities in Florida's luxury communities. Gladdy and her team must go undercover, adopting sophisticated personas to uncover the truth, but their investigation takes a dangerous turn when Gladdy's sister, Evvie, becomes entangled with a killer.

The premise suggests a lighthearted mystery with a focus on amateur sleuths and a touch of humor, typical of cozy mysteries. The undercover element and the involvement of Gladdy's sister hint at escalating stakes and potential for comedic misunderstandings turning serious. The setting in luxurious Florida communities implies a certain social milieu will be explored. The narrative structure likely follows the detectives as they gather clues and navigate their disguises, leading to a climactic reveal of the killer.
