While at his dying wife's bedside, Louis Darque, a recently promoted detective, is confronted by his absentee biological father, a demon named B'lial. The demon offers Louis the chance to save the life of his wife if he 'works' for him on earth. He informs him that because of his mixed blood he has certain demonic traits, such as immortality and the ability to travel to and from Hell. While Louis attempts to solve a series of murders on Earth and battles in Hell, he finds he has a twin brother: Obscure. In an effort to save the world from their father, and so Louis can have peace and Obscure the missing darkness he so craves, the two team up to fight B'lial on his own turf.....and Hell makes it clear that Louis is certainly not welcome there....
Detective Louis Darque is offered a Faustian bargain to save his dying wife: serve a demon father or lose her forever. Confronted by his demon father, B'lial, at his wife's bedside, Louis is presented with a choice that will alter his existence. B'lial reveals Louis's mixed heritage grants him demonic traits, including immortality and the ability to traverse between Earth and Hell. As Louis investigates a series of murders on Earth and navigates the treacherous landscape of Hell, he discovers a twin brother, Obscure, leading the two to unite against their father to save the world and fulfill their own desires.
The premise sets up a dark urban fantasy narrative blending detective work with supernatural elements. The conflict between Louis, his demonic heritage, and his father B'lial suggests a high-stakes struggle with significant personal and global consequences. The introduction of a twin brother, Obscure, adds a layer of familial complexity and potential for internal conflict or alliance within the demonic realm. The narrative appears to focus on action and the exploration of Hell as a physical and thematic space.
