As a die-hard fanilow for over 30 years, I have experienced a life-time enjoying the messages these songs represented. Whether the message was up lifting or heartbreaking, I could always relate. During his 35+ year musical career, he has written and/or recorded songs that touch on a variety of human conditions. Yes, the majority concern love: searching for love; finding love; being in love; losing love and moving on when love is gone. Some evoke pure passion and messages of enduring love. Many songs advocate that relationships require work and commitment, but there is also a place for more casual hook-ups. On a more serious note, Barry has songs about being lonely and feeling unworthy, and never getting over a lost love. But he also includes messages of hope and renewal.
