This poetry book laments losses, misses and goodbyes of family, lovers, friends, pets, and even love itself. The first part of the title refers to waiting many years. Just as some groups of cicadas take 17 to 20 years to emerge from the earth, the poems depict the waiting for these lost entities to have a physical and/or a spiritual return. Jose A. Carmona is a college teacher, an administrator, and an educational consultant. He is a graduate of the MFA program in creative writing/poetry at the University of Tampa in Tampa, FL. He began writing poetry at the age of 11 in both English and Spanish. His first book of poetry, Adolescent Blues, was published in the early 1990’s. His first novel and his book of horror short stories will be published very soon. You can contact him at https://www.JoseACarmona.com.
