There are multiple times throughout our years when the longing or need to do something new—tiny or large—is evident in an area of our lives. The hope for doing or being something new may center around a realization that we have been behaving, acting, or reacting in a specific area that just flat-out needs an overhaul, or at least, a touch-up. Possibly, we sense the need for something new because a significant moment has changed our perspective such as a birth, a loss, an important date, or the beginning of a new year. Another option is that God is simply inviting us to His new thing in and through our lives. We may not be leaving something behind; instead, we are walking in a new and different possibility. It appears from His Word that God Almighty loves to do new things all the time. The Unchanging One loves to change things up.
