(HISTORY OF MYTHS IN THE ASIATIC WORLD) Joseph G"rres and Georg Creuzer were among the "Heidelberg Symbolists," but while Creuzer can be criticized for his Romantic ideas, G"rres is such a caricature of Romantic Schwarmerei as to leave critics agape even today. A sort of G"rres revival was active in the 1930s in Germany. For students today, G"rres has his importance principally for his caricature-like Romantic qualities in the history of mythological scholarship. German Text 2 vols. in one
