A powerful mage's apprentice must navigate the treacherous world of a magical girls' academy while hiding her true identity and her forbidden love. Negi Springfield, a young boy with immense magical talent, is sent to train at an all-girls boarding school in Japan. He must conceal his abilities and his true age from the students and faculty, all while dealing with the chaotic and often dangerous magical phenomena that plague the academy. His mission is complicated by his growing feelings for one of his students, Asuna Kagurazaka, a fiery and independent girl who is unaware of his true nature or the magical world he inhabits. The narrative unfolds through a blend of comedic slice-of-life situations, intense magical battles, and developing romantic subplots, all set within the confines of the Mahora Academy.
